Spark plug is a major component in the ignition system of automobile engine. The function of spark plug is to introduce high voltage generated by the ignition coil into the engine cylinder, generate spark between the gap of spark plug electrode to ignite the mixed oil and gas, which burns and expands to provide the energy required for engine power output.


The traditional spark plug mainly consists of a central electrode, a ceramic insulator, a metal shell and a side electrode welded on the metal shell, the central electrode is arranged at one end of the spark plug, the side electrode is arranged at the same end of the spark plug corresponding to the central electrode, and there is a specific gap between the central electrode and the side electrode. With the help of the specific gap, an arc can be generated between the central electrode and the side electrode in the case of pulsed electric power, and then an electric spark can be generated to achieve the purpose of automatic ignition.


However, the side electrode of the traditional spark plug mainly consists of a connecting plate and a horizontal plate in structure, wherein the horizontal plate corresponds to the central electrode, and the connecting plate is arranged between the horizontal plate and the metal shell to achieve the state of maintaining the horizontal plate in a specific position on the central electrode, and there is a specific gap between the horizontal plate and the central electrode. Further, the transverse plate is usually a solid plate body. It is precisely because the side electrode of the traditional spark plug is a solid plate body structure, so the following situations often occur in specific applications: After the electric spark is generated between the central electrode and the side electrode by discharge, the electric spark is blocked by the solid horizontal plate, which can not be fully released, and can only be limited to a small area, which can not fully ignite the mixed oil and gas in the combustion chamber, affecting the ignition effect of the spark plug, and making the energy conversion efficiency of the automobile engine low. And this is the main disadvantage for the traditional spark plug.


In order to solve the problems existing in the traditional spark plug, the Chinese utility model patent discloses a spark guide device, which improves the structure of the side electrode (spark guide device) of the spark plug. The improvement is mainly provided with a guide part in the form of a through hole on a horizontal plate (spark generating part). After the electric spark is generated between the central electrode and the side electrode, the electric spark is released into the combustion chamber of the automobile engine through the guidance of the guide part, and the mixed oil and gas in the combustion chamber is fully ignited, the ignition effect is remarkable, and the energy conversion efficiency of the automobile engine is improved. However, the spark plug using the spark guide device still has the following disadvantages: the engine is not easy to start, and it is easy to have the phenomenon of "lack of fire", especially in the cold and dry winter, it is difficult to start. There are two reasons for the above phenomenon. First, the actual distance between the central electrode and the side electrode is increased by the setting of the guiding part in the spark guiding device, and the required breakdown voltage is increased. Second, there is no protruding tip on the side electrode arc structure, although in the successful ignition will lead to a number of jumping fire, improve the ignition effect, but the difficulty of ignition increases.
